In India there are many State Government Universities, which are controlled by State Governments. For the academic year 2022-23, the PG and PhD Admission process has just kickstarted.
As on 30 August 2022, Five State Universities have announced PhD Admission for 2022. Aspiring students should track admission information. The total number vacant PhD seats are expected to be more than 1,500.

Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University Rajouri Opens PhD Admission 2022 in 16 Departments
Rajouri, 30 August 2022: Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University Rajouri (J&K), a state university in Jammu and Kashmir, has announced PhD Admission 2022. PhD Admission is available in 16 subjects.
Key Dates: The closing date for the submission of Online Forms is 10 September 2022.
Online admission form can be filled at www.bgsbu.ac.in along with a fee of Rs. 650/-
Final year / semester students whose qualifying examination result is not declared are also eligible to apply. However, they are required to submit the final mark sheet before the selection process.
Gujarat University Opens PhD Admission 2022-23 for 535 Seats
Ahmedabad, 18 August 2022: Gujarat University, a public state university in Gujarat, has announced PhD Admission for 2022-23. The total number of PhD Seats are available are 535 in 80 departments.
Key Dates: The date of Online Purchase of PIN for PhD Entrance Exam – 2022 has been extended to 22-August 2022 (MONDAY) till 11.59 pm and Date for Online Registration and Submission of Form for Entrance Test have been Extended to 23 August 2022 (TUESDAY) till 11.59 pm.
Entrance Test for PhD is 30 August 2022 (12:00 noon to 2:00 PM).
Punjabi University Patiala Announces PhD Admission 2022 for 382 Seats
Patiala, 18 August 2022: Punjabi University Patiala, a state university in Punjab, has announced Admission for PhD Programmes for 2022-23. The total number of vacant seats are 382 in 37 subjects.

Late date of filling/editing the Form 08 September 2022 (05:00 pm)
The application fee for the Ph.D. Entrance Test is Rs. 2000/- (Rs. 1400/- for SC/ST candidates) for each subject.
Madurai Kamaraj University Opens PhD Admission 2022 for 49 Subjects
Madurai, 16 August 2022: Madurai Kamaraj University (MKU), a state university in Tamil Nadu, has announced MPhil and PhD Programmes 2022. The university will conduct PhD (Full Time/Part Time)/ MPhil (Regular) Common Entrance Test for available seats in various disciplines for 2022.
Madurai Kamaraj University is currently offering Ph.D. (Full Time/Part Time) Programmes in 49 subjects & M.Phil. (Regular) programmes in 43 subjects in its departments and affiliated colleges.
Key Dates: The closing date for submission of online application is 09 September 2021 (After Extension).

The online portal registration fee is Rs.2000/- for PhD and Rs. 1500/- for MPhil, (Rs.1000/- and Rs.750/-respectively for SC/ST Candidates) inclusive of eligibility certificates for passing candidates.3
University of Madras Opens PhD Admission August 2022 for its 74 departments and affiliated colleges
Chennai, 26 July 2022: University of Madras, a public state university in Chennai, has released PhD admission notification for August 2022 session.
PhD Programmes are offered in various departments of the University, Colleges affiliated to University and recognized research institutions for the academics session 2022 (July). The PhD programmes are offered in more than74 departments of the university. Both PhD (Full-Time) and PhD (Part-Time) are available.
Key Dates & Application Fee: The application portal has opened from 01 June 2022. University of Madras informed that the online application designed for the July 2022 session alone will be accepted and other applications will not be considered for admission under any circumstances.3
