IIT Madras Announces PhD Admission July 2023: 323 PhD Seats with Fellowships & 144 Seats for MS

Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras, an Institute of National Importance, has opened application window for PhD/Direct PhD/MS (by Research) Admission July 2023 Semester.  Scholars admitted to PhD and MS programmes under Regular scheme are eligible for the following Half-Time Research Assistantship (HTRA).

The total number of vacant PhD seats with HTRA are 323 while MSC (by Research) seats are 144 for July 2023-24 session.

Fellowships: Scholars admitted to PhD and M.S. programmes under Regular scheme are eligible for the following Half-Time Research Assistantship (HTRA).  PhD Candidates will get Rs 31,000 /- Per Month while MS (By Research) candidates will get Rs 12,400 Per Month. They should work for 8 hours per week in the Departments to earn this assistantship.

Key Dates: The online application portal has opened from 01 March 2023. The last date of Receipt of Online Application is 31 March 2023.

Written Test and Interview:  Intimation on “written test and interview” or “interview” indicating the date, time & venue will be communicated by the respective Departments through email to the shortlisted candidates.

AcSIR Common PhD Entrance Test August 2023 for 51 CSIR Research Labs is Open

Academy of Scientific and Innovative Research (AcSIR) New Delhi, an Institute of National Importance, has opened applications portal for admission to PhD in Science and Engineering Programs for the  August 2023 Batch. The research streams are disciplines of Science and Engineering – an exciting opportunity to pursue doctoral research in world renowned CSIR Laboratories – the Nation-wide Network of AcSIR Centers.

AcSIR is common PhD Entrance test for 51 CSIR Laboratories coming under AcSIR. There is no application fee for PhD Test.

IIT Delhi Announces Summer Faculty Research Fellow Programme (SFRFP) 2023 ! Apply Now

Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi, an Institute of National Importance, has announced Summer Faculty Research Fellow Programme (SFRFP) 2023.

IIT Delhi invites faculty fellows from various Engineering and Science Institutes and Colleges other than IIT Delhi to come and spend the summer (May-July) for pursuing research under the guidance of a faculty mentor of IIT Delhi. The faculty fellow will get an opportunity to interact and work with the IITD faculty mentor and his/her research students and get exposure to the world-class research matched by world-class facilities.

The SFRF programme works as a catalyst for those who are considering higher studies (Masters/PhD) at IIT Delhi in the near future.

The SFRF programme duration ranges from 06 to 08 weeks during May- July of 2023.

Support

The selected applicants (faculty fellows) may avail of paid campus accommodation (in hostels with basic facilities) subject to availability during the period May 16, 2023 (Tuesday) to July 14, 2023 (Friday) only, chargeable @ Rs. 750/- per day (including meal) + bedding charges @ Rs. 50/- per day i.e. Total approx. @Rs. 800/- per day. Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Hyderabad, has announced Summer Undergraduate Research Exposure (SURE), a Two Months Paid Internship Programs for students of other universities.

Eligibility:

2nd/3rd Year BTech /BDes, 1st year  MSc/MA

The total number of internships are 150

One can apply for 18 departments of IIT Hyderabad.

Fellowships:  The institute offers fellowships of Rs 15,000 for two months. \

Hostel accommodation is available on a sharing basis.

IIT Gandhinagar Announces Summer Research Internships 2023 for University Students

Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Gandhinagar, an Institute of National Importance, has announced Summer Research Internship Programme (SRIP) 2023 for university students.

Students pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree at an institution in India can apply for 8 weeks within summer break of IIT Gandhinagar. Students in first, second and third year of UG studies are encouraged to apply. Students in their first year of PG studies can also apply.

 In the present scenario, SRIP 2023 will be conducted in the offline mode.

Weekly stipend of Rs. 2000 will be paid after completion of the internship. The stipend for faculty funded projects, however, may vary.

Hostel accommodation will be provided to the summer interns and students are required to pay the applicable hostel charges.

The last date for receiving applications is 05 March  2023.

The students are expected to work on the project in-person and interact with the faculty mentor on a regular basis while staying on campus. This mode is open to all the students (Internal and External). The interns will be entitled to receive a stipend and a certificate on successful completion of the internship

IIT Roorkee SPARK Summer Internship for University Students to Open Soon

Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Roorkee, an Institute of National Importance, has announced to open application portal for SPARK program, an institute-funded Summer Internships programmes for university students, soon.

Some of the salient features of SPARK program includes:

Stipend of Rs. 2,500/week

Online, hassle-free application process

Students work on focussed projects advertised at the time of application

Regular progress reviews and poster sessions with awards for best posters

Starting from 2018, IIT Roorkee offers institute-funded (with a stipend of Rs. 2,500/week) and project-funded summer internships under the SPARK program. The objective of this programme is to attract and nurture talented undergraduate students across the country. Last year with 15000+ applications, 120+ offers were made.

Eligibility Conditions:  Students who are currently enrolled and have completed at least two semesters of the undergraduate degree (B.Arch./B.E./B.Tech./M.Sc) in a relevant discipline from any institute in India.

Following minimum CGPA criterion will apply:

CGPA > 7.5 for IITs/IISc.

CGPA > 8.0 for NITs/ IISERs/ NISER/IIEST/UM-DAECBS.

CGPA > 8.5 for students of other institutes.

Allahabad University Announces PhD Admission Test for 709 seats in 43 Subjects

University of Allahabad, a Central University in Uttar Pradesh, has announced Combined Research Entrance Test (CRET) 2022 for admission to PhD Programmes. These PhD programmes are available in the university main Campus and its 10 Constituent Colleges.

Total Vacant PhD Seats: The total number PhD seats available are 909 across 43 subjects.  The CRET 2022 will be conducted for 43 subjects with 709 seats out of which 316 seats are in University Departments/Centres and 393 seats in Constituent Colleges of the University of Allahabad.
