Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT), an Institute of Eminence (IoE) under Govt of India-Private Category, has Announced VIT Research Admission July 2023 for Admission to PhD progarmmes. VIT offers research programmes in various Schools at Vellore, Chennai Campuses and VIT-AP (Amaravati)  & VIT-Bhopal.

VITREE- July 2023 session will be conducted on 16th and 23rd April 2023 in 58 cities across India.

• VIT-Vellore campus only Internal Full -Time [IFT] category is offered.
• VIT-Chennai campus Internal Full -Time [IFT] category is offered and Internal- Part Time [IPT is offered only for VIT faculty members].
• VIT-AP campus Internal Full Time [IFT] category is offered and Internal Part Time [IPT is offered only for VIT faculty members].
• VIT-Bhopal campus both Internal Full Time [IFT] and External Part Time [EPT] categories are offered.

Research Fellowship Benefits: All Internal Full-Time scholars admitted into PhD programme will get a fellowship of Rs.31,000/- per month (GATE Qualified above 60 Percentile).

Key Dates: The closing date for submission of online application is 31 March 2023.

The application fee is Rs 1200 /-.

Eligibility Conditions:  

For Department of Chemical Sciences:

Minimum Eligibility Criteria:  Bright and motivated candidates who have passed M.Sc. examination with minimum 55% marks in any field of Chemistry or Physics. Besides satisfying minimal eligibility criteria, the candidates must have CSIR/UGC-NET JRF, INSPIRE fellowship or other Equivalent Fellowships.

Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER), Thiruvananthapuram, an Institute of National Importance UNDER Ministry of Education, has announced PhD and Integrated PhD programme (IPhD)  for July 2023 session.

PhD Programs are available in the Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics, Physics, and in the centres of Advanced Materials Research with International Engagement (CAMRIE) and High-Performance Computing (CHPC) for the session starting from August 2023, i.e., Varsha 2023 semester.

Integrated PhD programme (IPhD)  for July 2023 are available in the Schools of Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics and Physics for the session starting from August 2023, i.e., Varsha 2023 semester.

How to Apply and Key Dates: Candidates are required to apply through the online portal only.

The last date for receipt of online applications is                19 April 2023.

Applicants belonging to GE/OBC and SC/ST/PH categories are required to make a payment of Rs. 500/- and Rs. 250/-, respectively, as a processing fee online.

Eligibility Criteria for PhD Programmes:

6.5 CGPA on a 10-point scale (or first-class equivalent) or first class in Master’s program in a relevant discipline as declared by the respective University.

(BE/BTech degree in relevant specialization is admissible for select areas of research in the School of Physics (see Research Areas))

The candidate must have qualified at least one of the following examinations: CSIR-JRF, UGC-JRF or GATE or other national-level examinations, with validity as on 01 January 2023.

BS-MS students from any of the IISERs/IITs/IISc with a CGPA 8 or above on a 10-point scale are exempted from national-level test eligibility related criteria.

* Only candidates whose ranks make them eligible to avail Category 1 DBT-Junior Research Fellowships tenable at any university/institution in India. Fellowships restricted to join DBT or ICMR sponsored projects are not eligible.

** GATE (EY) qualified candidates will be considered only for Ecology, Evolution and Behaviour. GATE (XL) or GATE (BT) qualified candidates will be considered only for Bioinformatics.

***Candidates may be further shortlisted by the shortlisting committee based on the marks/score.
