A. Applicants must have ONE of the following in appropriate subject areas.

1. Master’s degree in engineering/Technology with first class, 60% marks (55% marks for SC/ST) or equivalent.

Eligibility and Selection Criteria for PhD Level Admission at Nalanda University for Indian and International Students

For full time students it’s a fully residential programme, with a stipend of 35000 INR per month

Nalanda University offers 4 year doctoral programme for national and international students

For full time students, it’s a fully residential programme

For part-time students, residence will not be provided (baring contact programmes / workshops for a period of not exceeding more than seven days)

Essential Eligibility Criteria:

Applicant should have a Master’s degree with at least 65% marks or equivalent Grade Point Average (GPA), preferably with dissertation at Masters’ level or M.Phil. Degree with 65% marks or equivalent Grade Point Average (GPA).

Conditions of Eligibility

Candidates applying for PhD Entrance Examination shall have passed a Post Graduate Degree examination in any discipline of Mahatma Gandhi University or of any other Universities recognised as eligible thereto, with not less than 55% marks or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed (without adding grace marks) and who has secured a Post Graduate Degree or an equivalent Professional Degree satisfying the condition detailed above from a foreign educational institution which is accredited by authorised agencies.

However, a relaxation of 5% of marks, from 55% to 50% (without adding grace mark) or an equivalent relaxation of grade, shall be granted to those belonging to SC/ST/OBC/Differently Abled and for candidates who have obtained their Post Graduate Degree prior to 19th September, 1991.
