The application portal for Jawaharlal Nehru University Entrance Examination (JNUEE) 2021 is open now. On behalf of Jawaharlal Nehru University, the National testing Agency, the National Testing Agency will conduct JNUEE 2021.

Candidates may apply online only during the period specified above.
Programmes for 2021-22: The candidates shall be considered for admission to the following programmes: PhD, MTech, MPH, PGD, MA, MSc, MCA, MBA, BTech+MTech/MS, BA (Hons.) 1st year in Foreign Languages, BSc-MSc. Integrated programme and Part-Time courses.
The candidates for admission to Ph.D. have to appear for Computer Based Test (CBT).
JRF qualified candidates shall be exempted from Computer Based Test (CBT). They are required to apply separately under JRF category. Such candidates shall be shortlisted and called directly for viva-voce.
GATE qualified candidates for the admission in the school of Engineering shall be exempted from Computer Based Test (CBT). They are required to apply separately under GATE category. Such candidates shall be shortlisted and called directly for viva-voce.
The PhD Admission will be done two channels: JNU Entrance Examination 2021 and Through NET-JRF.

Through NET-JRF, the total number of PhD Seats available are 318.

Candidates need to fulfill the following eligibility criteria for admission in Ph.D at JNU.
Master’s Degree with 55% marks or equivalent Grade ‘B’ in UGC 7- point scale (or an equivalent Grade in a point scale wherever Grading system is followed). OR
Candidates who have cleared the M.Phil. course work with at least 55% marks in aggregate or its equivalent grade ‘B’ in the UGC 7-point scale or an equivalent grade
A relaxation of 5% of marks, from 55% to 50%, or an equivalent relaxation of grade, may be allowed for those belonging to SC/ST/OBC(non-creamy layer)/differently-abled and other categories of candidates
A person whose M.Phil. dissertation has been evaluated and the viva voce is pending may be admitted to the Ph.D. programme of the same Institution
Candidates possessing a Degree considered equivalent to M.Phil. Degree shall be eligible for admission to Ph.D. programme
JNU Ph.D Selection Criteria
Selection of the candidates for the Ph.D. will be done on the basis of their performance in the entrance examination and viva-voice, both conducted by the university.
The candidates are invited for CBT examination and candidates qualifying in the CBT examination shall be called for viva voce Examination. 50% marks are qualifying for the candidate belonging to General Category and EWS category whereas 45% marks are qualifying for the candidates belonging to SC, ST, OBC, PWD categories.
JNU Ph.D Admissions: How To Apply?
Online Application:
Candidates can register themselves for admission to the integrated Ph.D and M.Phil./ Ph.D programme through an online application process available at the official university website.
Application fee of Rs. 300/- should also be submitted along with completed applications through the online payment modes such as net banking, credit/ debit card etc.
Offline Application:
Candidates can also request for application form to be sent by post along with the prospectus by sending Crossed Demand Draft of Rs.300/- along with the self-addressed envelope.
DD should be drawn in favour of “Jawaharlal Nehru University”, payable at New Delhi and the letter should clearly indicate the program of study for which the Application Form is required
Natives of Nepal can also obtain the prospectus and application form by sending demand draft of amount Rs. 400/- or equivalent in USD

Two self attested copies of the Matriculation, Higher Secondary Pre-University of Indian School Certificate or Senior School Certificate (10+2) or an equivalent examination certificate, showing the age/date of birth of the candidate
A Character Certificate from the Head of the Institution last attended
Two self attested copies of the statement of marks obtained by the candidate in Senior School or their equivalent examination
SC/ST/OBC Certificate, if belonging to SC/ST/OBC category
A Medical Certificate for PWD Candidates certifying nature & percentage of disability issued by the competent medical authority
Migration Certificate (in original) from the Head of the Institution/ University last attended.
